Antonio has spent his working life developing and refining his people and organization management skills, as a manager and as a consultant, in family businesses and large multinationals across many different markets.

He first built up the fundamentals of human resource management in an international construction and cement group, then developed an in-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry. He took on the role of HR Director Italy in the Serono Group, now Merck KGaA, actively participating in global projects and expanding his responsibility to market research and Business Intelligence, before joining Menarini Pharmaceuticals as Group HR Director.

He continued to develop his career within the life science sector, first at Aventis Pharma Italia in Milan, focusing on sales effectiveness, successfully managing the merger with Sanofi and coaching global talent towards GM positions, then at Bristol Myers Squibb Italia as Country VP of HR.

He moved on to Alitalia, first as VP of Industrial Relations, then covering the role of VP Organisation.

In 2014 he was appointed Chief People Officer.

In Alitalia he carried out three major restructuring and change projects and the internationalization of the management structure, while fostering the development of young talents, now in leadership roles in large companies.

After a role as VP of Human Resources in the railway sector, he developed a consulting activity in organizational development and change management for several companies in the health care, packaging, transport and large-scale retail sectors.

Antonio’s main interest is his three daughters and he dedicates himself to supporting their personal development and pursuit of happiness.

Although he graduated in Law, from the University of Florence and the University of Alcalà de Henares – Madrid, he is mainly passionate about medieval history, fine arts and architecture.

He is fluent in English and Spanish.
